CARNIVAL 2001

We thought it would be hard to follow the success of last year, but we were wrong! With excellent weather, new incentives to exhibitors, and different beer we had a fabulous day.
To start with, there was the biggest procession ever. Then virtually every stall was taken (they'll be in big demand next year so book early!). We had three entertainers in addition to the centre arena displays.

As an added attraction we included inter-school games which were a huge success with entrants from several local primary schools. Hopefully next year more schools will participate and compete for the cash prizes towards funds.

Some of the biggest attractions on the day were the cars. As well as the local Mini owners club, we also had a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost and two Formula One racing cars.

Local firm Racewood.com kindly loaned one of their racing horse simulators which was quite a challenge for would-be jockeys old and young!

Carnival starts at about 8:00 in the morning when the field starts to come together.
Improvisation is the name of the game!
The parade started - with fun and games as the theme. This was 'CLUEDO'!
The old fire tender was there.
And the Clan Urquhart pipes & drums stirred hearts!
More Queens than ever!
And what a fabulous car Bentley Rolls Royce lent us.
All the thrill of the races.
Shop window dressing competition winner Cavendish Ikin with 'Monopoly'. They kindly donated ALL the prize money to charity. Hopefully a few more businesses will participate next year!
Zoe Tate's Taekwondo students march onto the field.
And the Cheshire Mini Owners Club was there again, and ran the coconut shy until all their nuts were spent!
The High School Band played.
And then there was the ever popular dog competition.
The Tarporley Then and Now book continued to sell well.
Then at five o'clock we had to take it all down again.. By 7o'clock it was all gone for another year.
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
